RotK DOMINATES!

Postby nemele » Tue Jan 27, 2004 2:45 pm

Right, so not only did Return of the King win all four Golden Globes it was nominated for, but it also got ELEVEN Oscar nominations. ELEVEN. Take a look: DallasNews.com story

Who else will be cheering for RotK on February 29th?

apparently RotK also won four golden globes, incl. best picture, and best director. 24 won the award for best drama (yay for 24! :)):

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4057351/

also, here's a list of oscar nominees that doesn't require registration to view:

http://www.oscars.com/nominees/nomineelist.html

finally, let's not forget the fact that the fellowship of the ring dominated the oscar nominations, as well, with a total of 13 nominations, as described here:

http://movies.go.com/news/2002/2/oscarn ... 21202.html

of course, only 2 of those 13 nominations resulted in wins.

Than RotK or FotR? I like them in reverse order, I think...does that make any sense? I mean, I like RotK the best, and then TTT, and then FotR.

Yeah, I watched the Golden Globes...and every time RotK won one I would shriek and throw the pillow I was holding into the air...and then my mom would yell at me because my sister was in bed asleep.

Awesome stuff. It deserved all the praise.

If only Jackson had stuck to the book format and included the Shelob scene in Two Towers, then all three films would be excellent.

but still Reefer, if you look at his previous movies LOTR could have been a complete disaster. ^_^

True but I think what helped him was his two writer/producers (his wife and the other lady)

They are both clearly Tolkein fans and obviously had a dramatic imput on the scripts.

Which, RotK?...God, I'm such a loser, I've seen it three times already. Including once in IMAX! Which kicked butt! God, that was awesome...

Last night I was at youth group and one of my friends informed me that she hadn't seen it yet...I freaked...it was great.

I haven't read it, actually. I own it, I've just never gotten around to picking it up. And since I got seventeen new books for Christmas...
