FBI Agents Put New Focus on Deviant Porn

Last month, the FBI began implementation of an anti-obscenity initiative designed to crack down on those that produce and distribute deviant pornography. According to FBI headquarters, the war against smut is "one of the top priorities" of Attorney General Gonazalez and FBI Director Robert Meuller. Although law enforcement agencies have always been aggressive when it comes to prosecuting exploitative child pornographers, this new initiative is unique in that it targets Internet pornography featuring consenting adults.

What's next? Banning of homosexuality because that's deviant? Before you know it, women may be back to wearing veils (1). Of course, women wearing veils probably isn't something that concerns politicians these days, given that women in Iraq are now being forced to wear veils (2), too.

(2) I can just imagine some ultra-conservative nutcase objecting to this because "no one can force anything to do anything". If you think that, then just think about the consequences. In a purely idealogical sense, freedom and consequences aren't at conflict. In a more practical sense, however, they are. If you disagree, go post in this thread.

Wow, taking resources away from fighting organized crime, child pornography, money laundering and almost all other technical departments to fight porn that BOTHERS people. Jesus-forking-Christ, you'd think that even christian social conservatives would have more care for the children who are going to be or continue to be exploited and raped because the Attorney General cares more about what consenting adults do. Or perhaps they cease to care about children after they're born.

Bah, this is just another culture-war skirmish. What the CCs object to isn't exploitation or molestation or even rape, because they could be pushing for tougher penalties for rapists and child molesters, and by and large they don't, and this isn't about victims, it's about social acceptance. They want to drag pornography into the public eye as an item of condemnation, they want that "This is obscene, and it's illegal now." message pounded into people. because they're afraid that non-standard (or deviant, whatever) sex might lure people out of the Strictly-for-procreation-missionary-position-in-the-dark attitude they personally hold. Or claim to.....
