Xbox, sice they are the only ones you can mod, or at least the only ones I know how to mod. 38 games, dvd player, no discs, I dont think it gets much better.

Pros:
Xbox: Triggers on the controller, better graphics, more first person shooters.
PS2: Sony is already a trusted name in gaming, small sleek controllers, more RPG/Adventure titles, making a huge impact in Japan as well as the US and Europe, more compact, wider variety of games, Eyetoy technology, PS1 games expand library even further, capable of playing CDs and DVDs without any adapters.

Cons:
Xbox: Large console, big clumsy controllers, recent recall on the power cable, went for years as an electrical fire hazard before anyone noticed, game library mostly limited to first-person shooters and sports titles, poor sales in Japan, Microsoft isn't esentially known for their hardware, needs an adapter to play DVDs.
PS2: Shoulder buttons instead of triggers, lacking in the first-person shooter department.

I'm gonna have to go with the PS2. As for the GC, I've heard that those who own it love it, but it's sales records are miniscule when compared to the other big system. I'm not a big handheld fan, and every PC I've ever owned has been too slow for games, so I wouldn't know. But I have much experience with the Xbox and PS2 and I'd recommend the PS2.

The triggers on the X-BOX controllers aren't a pro in my book, I've always found the PS2's buttons easier to use.

I've edited your post to make the question stand out.

For me, I just simply like to sit down to play video games. But I also do some swimming...yeah...15 hours of swimming a week...minimum...

It depends on my mood. Most often it's red, but sometimes it's a dark green or purple.
