Oct. 2003 VEX updates

It was the dawn of the third age of mankind, ten years after the Earth/Minbari war. The Babylon 5 League was a dream given a forum.

Oct. 2003 VEX updates

Postby TerraFrost » Sat Oct 25, 2003 8:58 am

here's a more detailed description of the changes to the VEX...

in feburary, 1998, the VEX was redesigned with NetObjects Fusion. most of the redesign went smoothly, save for the bibliography, which NetObjects Fusion couldn't open. that bibliography (refered to, in the VEX, as IRL: Notes on the Entries) has now been restored to what it was before the redesign, and the layout has been adjusted to match the overall layout of the redesigned VEX. so, while it does cite many of the sources that were used in the creation of the VEX, it does not cite sources that were used after the feburary 1998 redesign. additionally, some of the entries in the first version of the VEX (the one that the bibliography is from) seem to have either been deleted or renamed. here are the ones that have been renamed:

"Grey" to Vree
Dominicans to Trappist Order
Rangers to Anla-shok (Rangers)

here are the entries that have been deleted (or were, originally, renamed to names i couldn't figure out):

the Ancients
War Council
Narn Dreadnought
Reverend Bobby James Galaxy

pursuent to this change, links to the appropriate sections of the bibliography page have been made on each page.

also, before the redesign, the na'ka'leen feeder was listed as a sentient species. it has since been relisted as a creature, however, it's name does not appear in either the main index or the creature index. this has been fixed.

finally, the index has been restored.

well, apparently there's another interesting update, but this isn't one i did :)

Voltayre, the original maintainer of the VEX, has improved upon the VEX, added some new entries, and released it at the following URL!:

the frostjedi.com copy of the VEX will continue to be hosted as long as time permits.
