Wheok had been twirling around in the middle of the street slashing at dragonflies with his cutlass when Duran finally spoke.
Wheok stopped quite suddenly, causing his hair to spill over his forehead and into his eyes. He brushed his hair aside and leapt forward at Duran, landing just in front of him, and clasped his hand over the stranger's mouth.
"Shhhhhhhh!!!!" he cautioned, looking around furtively. "Follow me!"
Wheok skipped down the alleyway between the Inn and the charred remains of his shop. The gypsy music could be heard a little more loudly here.
Duran strode quickly after Wheok. He wondered what the madman was up to and kept a safe distance.
Wheok paused and surveyed the air space between the walls of the buildings. He seemed to be looking for something.
He let out a whelp of laughter and sat down on the cobblestone sidewalk.
"Yes, it appears we are safe here ... none of the dragonflies followed us." Wheok grinned.
Duran looked stumped.
"I suspect the sudden influx of annoying dragonflies buzzing around all over town is the work of OmegaFrost!" he whispered.
"Huh?" Duran was truly perplexed. "I thought he was more of a genious scientist type than a bug specialist..."
"Oh, he's a bug specialist alright," Wheok snorted out a loud bray of laughter then added in a whisper, "but these are very special bugs, my friend."
