Neverwinter Nights

Postby Megafrost » Sun Dec 08, 2002 6:54 pm

For those that don't know, Neverwinter Nights is an open-ended RPG game based on the rules of Dungeons & Dragons.

At the moment, there are 2 things I'm trying to take care of.

First, I've been trying to get used to the module editor, but it's a bit complicated. Once I get used to the editor, I may make my own module. But that could take quite awhile.

Second, I've been making cheats for this game so that I may have an uber-powerful character with 18 in every ability(23 at Level 20) without modifiers, every single feat, max points in every single skill(23 for class skills, 11 for cross-class skills) without modifiers, and to possibly get every single spell.

Currently, I can get every single feat, a bunch of skill points and I can change each ability, but so far, the only class that I've been capable of getting every single spell for has been the Wizard, and that's only because they can learn spells off of scrolls. I have not been able to get other classes to get every single spell that they are capable of learning.

My method of cheating has been to take a memory editor and edit the values of certain addresses. The address for the skill points and ability score were easy to find, but for the Feats, I couldn't find the value that determines how many I can get, and therefore I ended up getting every single feat by finding the address for the character's level, and locking it at a certain number so that when I get enough EXP to level up, I level up to that level however many times I want to.

That same method doesn't work for getting a bunch of spells, so I have to find a different address, which so far I'm having failure on.

EDIT: Hmmm...there's another cheat I should make. I'm going to eventually see if it's possible for one character to be level 20 of every class! :rotf

It sounds like a fun game but too hard for me!

Unless you make a "Neverwinter Nights for Dummies" book. :p

Sounds like you're having fun with it anyway .... how's Primus doing? Is he still addicted? :p

Actually, he still plays it some.

I believe Neverwinter Nights does has a "dummy" feature. If you're not sure how you want to develop your character, click the "Recommended" button and NWN will do it for you. :p

Omegafrost plays it also in case some of you didn't know. ;)

However, she had no idea what she was doing, and she somehow started killing innocent civilians. Only after Primus was teaching her how to play did she finally get it. :p

hehe - it sounds sorta like Bauldur's Gate, which I did play! :)
it was another game in the dnd series, and by bioware and black isle...
except that this game is on a lot more cd's. and you have to switch them out as your playing. of course, i have it on a single dvd, so i don't have to worry about that :)

Your dad is addicted, isn't he? :p

On another note, I have just gotten rid of one of the obstacles that comes with trying to be level 20 of every class. In that one test module with the Goblins Vs. the Kobolds, I edited that half-orc's conversation so that all you have to do is talk to him, and your alignment will instantly shift to the alignment of your choosing. Now I don't have to worry about alignment restrictions. :D

If you are a barbarian and become lawful you loose Rage at least in the REAL rules.

I'll have to see for myself. I've got a Barbarian I could test with it.

But my cheating Barbarian wouldn't need Rage, as I've upgraded my cheating characters to have 50 in every ability. :p
