doping for soldiers?

doping is generally frowned upon by sports organizations because it gives competitors unfair advantages. so what about for soldiers, where you want "competitors" to have unfair advantages?

obviously, doping ought not be used to the exclusion of other more effective techniques that give countries unfair advantages (such as using planes to bomb soldiers on the ground), however, doping when soldiers are your only option doesn't seem unreasonable...

I'm sure that plenty of soldiers already voluntarily take creatine, steroids, erythropoetin, and other such performance enhancers on their own, with their own time and money. I know I would in their situation; anything to give me an edge and keep me alive a little longer.

That makes sense. Soldiers often use private funds to buy better weapons and body armor, too.
