Duran emerges from a shadow between a wooden cart and the remains of Wheok's store. He rubs his head for a minute then looks back at the shadow. "Wait a minute. I was on a beach with palm trees, watching the crazy dude riding the waves on his board. How did i get here?" Duran walks over to the shadow, using his staff he prods it. Finding nothing but an empty wall. He gives it a nasty look, then takes a look around.

Duran rubs his eyes at the sudden emrgence of Omega's store. He walks up to it, watching as Umbro entered it. Deciding that walkin into a building that seemed alive was a bad idea, he headed away looking back at the store in fear that it might send something to eat him. Like a white blood cell.. Duran buttons his jacket up noticing the cold air, the snow and ice about the place. He starts looking for someplace warm, like a inn.

Neero was feeling kinda bored today, and needed something to do to prevent him from stealing. He was really getting tired, so he was thinking of taking a nap. He had spent the night, spying on a few choice people, because he knew something was going on. Apparently no one knew what was going on. He threw the red scarf over his other shoulder, concealing his mouth and nose. Wandering out of the alley, he slowly walks out towards the inn. Noticing a lost and distraught character coming his way, he walks on. The figure gets right behind him. He slowly draws his blade, and swings at the figure, but his blade is at his cheek. The figure cringes for a second and just stares. Then, Neero turned again and walked in the inn, hitting the sign.

"Why do people do that?" mutters Duran. He gives the inn a wary look and decide to head away from it. Not wanting to get involved in a fight. He notices a man running about like a chicken with it's head cut off. "Or that?" He reaches into his pocket, pulls out a coin and flips it into the air, while saying to no one in particular. "Call it"

Wheok cartwheeled past Neero and out into the street.

"HEADS!" he screamed in glee. "Heads up! Heads will roll! Head start!"

He unsheathed his cutlass and beheaded a dragonfly that was buzzing around Duran's head. Then he grabbed Duran by the shirt collar and pulled his face to within an inch of his own.

"That was close," he said seriously. "Very very close!"

He let go of Duran's collar and let out a loud mirthful shriek of laughter as he danced in a circle around the newcomer. He whirled to the sounds of guitars, tamborines and bells from a not-too-distant gypsy camp and clapped his hands over his head as he whirled about.

The billowy white sleeves of his tunic flapped in the gentle breeze and his mop of unruly hair bobbed up and down as he cavorted about merrily.

Suddenly, Wheok stopped dancing and laughing. He glared directly at Duran with a rather cold and strange look. He walked directly and deliberatly up to him. He bowed deeply then he laughed out loud and thrust his right hand forward.

"I am Wheok, at your service, good Sir!"

"Heads it is!" laughs Duran as he grasps Wheok's offered hand with both his hands giving him a good shake. "Name's Duran, and you have won the opportunity to showcase this grand town to my humble self." Duran releases Wheok and reaches into his jacket. He presents Wheok with a half inch thick sheet of silver. "I do not know what this town uses as money, but I hope this is enough to acquire your services for the day?"

Wheok snatched the silver sheet and bit into it. His strong teeth left just the faintest impression. He clutched the silver sheet in one hand in stood nose to nose with Duran.

"One can never be too careful..." he said in a conspiratorial whisper.

He thought the silver could be exchanged for some building materials to begin work on rebuilding his store and perhaps take Zora to dinner at the Inn. That thought reminded him that he had somehow lost Zora in his hasty retreat from her room.

"I seem to have misplaced Zora..." he continued in the same grave tone then suddenly began giggling. "Oh well ....."

He jumped back, threw up his arms in glee and whirled around to the distant gyspy music again. It seemed the music was getting closer or else Wheok's hearing was improving by the day. He could barely make it out when he first began hearing it 5 days ago. He shook his head and grinned at Duran.

"Indeed!" he enthused. "I shall be delighted to be your guide!"

"Strange, the last person that acted like this, was that dude with the ears when i played my fiddle. Though he begged me to stop..." Duran muttered.
Pointing his staff at the nearest store, "Starting with that, i want to know eveything about it, and end with ..." Duran looked around, waving his staff at everything before stopping with his staff pointed at Omega's store. "...that."

Wheok nodded thoughtfully. He stood in the middle of the street and pointed at the Frost City Inn which was situated at the very end of the road.

It was a large impressive structure of stone and white wood. The heavy double-paned leaded windows. The massive oak door opened directly into a stone floored foyer. If one continued down the hallway from the foyer there were powder rooms for the ladies and restrooms for the gentlemen. At the end of the hallway was a wide staircase that led to the upper level. There were many guest rooms of all sizes and prices ranging from modest single rooms to opulent suites.

On the main level, to the left of the foyer, was the restaurant with a gourmet menu that delighted locals and travelers alike. To the right of the foyer was a . The room was rather dark compared to the restaurant which was flooded with light from windows that lined two walls. There were several mahogany tables in the bar as well as a pair of long banquet-style tables for larger groups. There was a huge gleaming mahogany bar in the back of the room. A stately floor to celiing stone fire place graced the far north end of the room.

The kitchen was situated to the back of the Inn and behind the restaurant. There was also an office and the Innkeeper's quarters, which included 3 bedrooms, a restroom which had a bath tub and water closet, a kitchenette with dining area and a roomy family room. There were also several smaller rooms for the maids and a shared restroom for them. Each maids room contained two single cots as there were two girls per room due to the Inn's 24/7 operating schedule. The restaurant and bar both closed at 2 am however.

"Would you like to know more about the Inn or shall we move on?" Wheok asked Duran.

Move on, but does this Inn get customers? Isn't this place a bit out of way for travelers?" asked Duran as he scratched his ear.

Wheok threw back his head and brayed with laughter. He stopped laughing rather suddenly and stood nose to nose with Duran.

"You don't know much about the Frosts do you, friend?" he hissed. 'Friend, foe and curious lookyloo's come from far and wide to call on them, spy on them or just hoping to get a glimpse of them."

Duran nodded thoughtfully.

"Certain young ladies with an engouement for Lord Giga are always lurking about trying to meet him," Wheok winked. "And, since word of his disappearance has spread, there are more visitors than ever. Plus, the restaurant and bar get quite a lot of business from locals."

He skipped down the street a bit and bekoned Duran to follow. Once Duran caught up, Wheok pointed at a burned out looking building on the right side of the street if you were facing the Inn, or on the left side if you were leaving it. It was a rather large square building made mostly of brick. Soot covered the brick where flames had licked out throught the broken windows. There were allys on both sides of the store which is why the surrounding buildings were not damaged when it burned.

"What's this?" Duran asked.

"My store..." Wheok sniffed sadly.

"What happened to it?" Duran quizzed.

"I set fire to it after Lord Giga ignored me at a party." Wheok revealed sheepishly.

Duran raised both eyebrows and looked shocked.

"Odd, you don't work as the court Jester as well do you?"
Wheok eyes narrowed as he stared as Duran, "Why?"
"no reason. What did you sell?"

Wheok tossed his head of tousled hair and looked at bit indignant at the court jester remark. He had a reputation as a madman and as a nut but not of a jester.

"Hmph," he snorted.

He glanced through one of the broken windows and saw Zora poking about in the rubble. He wondered how the heck she had managed to get in without him seeing her and decided she must have slipped across the street while he was distracted by Duran and somehow avoided seeing him. He shrugged and turned back to Duran.

"I sold a wide variety of fine clothing and accessories for men and ladies as well as jewelry and perfumes. And so many fine gifts as well as some novelty items. The Frost Barbie was such a popular item for the kiddies!"

Duran supressed a smirk as Wheok wiped tears from his eyes.

"Once, OmegaFrost --the scientist, you know?-- even bought manequins from me as gifts for ladies on his shopping list. Oh yes ... and I ran a salon, within, offering hair cutting and shaving."

"Wait, Omegafrost?" Duran gestures toward Omega's new store. "what type of scientist create something that bizarre?"

Wheok had been twirling around in the middle of the street slashing at dragonflies with his cutlass when Duran finally spoke.

Wheok stopped quite suddenly, causing his hair to spill over his forehead and into his eyes. He brushed his hair aside and leapt forward at Duran, landing just in front of him, and clasped his hand over the stranger's mouth.

"Shhhhhhhh!!!!" he cautioned, looking around furtively. "Follow me!"

Wheok skipped down the alleyway between the Inn and the charred remains of his shop. The gypsy music could be heard a little more loudly here.

Duran strode quickly after Wheok. He wondered what the madman was up to and kept a safe distance.

Wheok paused and surveyed the air space between the walls of the buildings. He seemed to be looking for something.

He let out a whelp of laughter and sat down on the cobblestone sidewalk.

"Yes, it appears we are safe here ... none of the dragonflies followed us." Wheok grinned.

Duran looked stumped.

"I suspect the sudden influx of annoying dragonflies buzzing around all over town is the work of OmegaFrost!" he whispered.

"Huh?" Duran was truly perplexed. "I thought he was more of a genious scientist type than a bug specialist..."

"Oh, he's a bug specialist alright," Wheok snorted out a loud bray of laughter then added in a whisper, "but these are very special bugs, my friend."
