Fourth of July Party!!!

Postby Icegaze » Wed Jul 02, 2003 12:56 am

Zora got her paint and a large piece of wood. She began painting a sign. When she was done she took her sign and walked to the Inn. This was a place where most people passed one time or another. She leaned the sign up against the outside wall. The sign read:

PARTY!!!!!
When: Fourth of July
Where: Clearing behind the Inn
Bring a grill and anything you can cook on it. Bring fireworks, too!

Wheok was skipping down the street tossing daisy petals from side to side when his attention was diverted by the sign.

He stopped quite suddenly and cocked his head to one side. He stood with his left hand on his hip and his right hand cupping his chin.

With a loud mirthful guffaw of laughter, he threw both hands skyward, casting his remaining daisy petals above his head, and did a backflip.

"Wheeeeeeee ...ok... a PARTY!" he laughed and then continued skipping off down the street.

Magefrost was strolling down the main street, bored at the slowness of the tournament in coming back to a fight between him and something else again. Suddenly, he noticed the sign on the shop wall.

"Hmmmm..." he said, walking along again, this time not so angry at delays, now more in a happy anticipation.

It was the day! Zora walked into town, dragging her grill behind her. On top of the grill was a wooden crate. She dragged her luggage to the clearing. She was the first one there. Seeing she was the first one there, she patiently waited for some new guests to arrive.

Wheok cartwheeled into the clearing with a large firecracker clamped between his teeth.

Zora could see its long wick was lit and sizzling.

As he landed on his feet, Wheok calmly removed the firecracker from his mouth and tossed it skyward. He whipped a shiny cutlass from a sheath strapped to the leg of his billowy silk pants and sliced the wick in two as the firecracker descended.

He let out a shriek of laughter and screamed at Zora ....

OOC: Ok, the party wasn't so successful, should we continue and keep having the party, or just close the thread?

Zora set a big firework in the ground and motioned for Wheok to stand back. The firework was red. It was shaped like a dragon's head and wings. She lit the firework and cartwheeled back. It launched into the air, leaving a long red trail that looked like the dragon's tail. The dragon flew up into the air and finnally exploded in a magnificant red, white, and blue explosion.

"A great finale, if I do say so myself. Huh, Wheok?" Then Zora closed her grill and threw the crate out. She said goodbye to Wheok and walked away. It had been a great Fourth of July.

Wheok clapped his hands gleefully as he watched the colorful explosion in the sky and danced in circles.

The smile faded from his lips and he was suddenly sad as he watched Zora walk away. She was the only person who had even talked to him in months.

He wondered if perhaps his presence was why the others all had shunned the party. Tears rolled silently down his cheeks as he walked away.

"Yeah Happy 4th..." he muttered to no one in particular.
