I always thought it had more of a coppery taste, personally, but *shrugs*. Maybe the human tongue just isn't very good at distinguishing between metals.

And is a sweet bit a sugar cube? Stuck inside of the bit?

eh... and different people have different taste abilities. there's this thing from middle school science class with chemical compounds on little strips of paper... and they tasted bitter to some people but sweet to others

a sweet bit is like... the metal is sweet to the horse somehow. my brother says they actually do taste sweet and i'm not gonna question how he knows XD

The place doesn't serve eel, unfortunately. Wish they'd served some crayfish...

Shrimp; I love it, but my brother hates it. He often calls them "oceanic cockroaches."
Eel; Never tried them.... they seem too ugly to taste good.....
Squid; calamari is good, especially when its authentic.
Octopus; I had the canned stuff.....it tasted good, but I smelled like fish for about two days straight.
Crayfish; Not sure how to eat it.....

Eel has a somewhat sweet flavor for meat, and makes for pretty good sushi rolls. That's the only form I've ever had it in... I used to dislike shrimp because of the bugness, but I've gotten over that. Haven't had any of the other invertebrates you listed...

not really sure what the appeal of crayfish is... to me its like a smaller, muddier tasting lobster. not really worth the effort you have to go to in order to get the meat out :P
