As far as how the F-35B compares to the F-22... The F-22 doesn't have any STOVL capability but it does support supercruising and has a longer range. The F-22 is also a larger aircraft and has a smaller combat radius. That the combat radius would be smaller for the aircraft with the greater range seems odd to me, but whatever.

The F-22 article states that the F-22 is a fourth generation stealth aircraft, although I'm not sure what generation stealth aircraft the F-35.
