No Remorse for the Remains

Postby Phoenix » Tue Sep 16, 2003 1:00 am

I’ll tell you a tale of moonlight ales drunk fine in the ocean
Waves continue to roll upon the mind still strolling time
Sandy beaches know no etchings of the past upon them
We hear nothing in the silence of this void known
Not upon the alters do we ever see night again

Gain your troops in numbers, my generals of the day
You order the sadden parade of palms read by machines
You question nothing in your unforgiving quest

No fire can quench your thirst
No ash can remind you of the dead
No urns can be set, no clocks rethreaded

Ringing bells give wells of hope to the workers of hell
Now they move swiftly to the streets upon their rebirth
Families cry for the sorrow left in the mute fathers stares
Angels bare themselves to the devils of demonic procession
No one remembers the dusk coming on

Shadows move slow to take the grove of young saplings on
Phantoms dance with their lance at the ready to strike down
Happiness floats on the air as robin hood makes his last move
Down the rivers blind eyes the watchers wait for the mistake
The governors down the lane make the pain all so surreal
Now the taxes invade, Gold shimmers and you are gone

Except for the moon and the soon flown to the stars
Afar they live outside the pearl encrusted gates
Late to the party come the hounds of truth
Ruthless of their calling, falling is their game
Claim to fame without acknowledgement

They hold the sinners hand
Make the band play grace
Enliven the ace backed hand
Now who is staring back
The Revolution will not be televised

nice poem
emmisary of the pointy shiny
Born with wings of light and a sword of faith this heavenly incarnation embodies both fury and purity.
