Another random poem that just sprang full grown from the brow of Zeus (i.e. came out of nowhere and was just written). Here it is, enjoy:

sighing I float
upon a sea of misery
drifting on the surface
not submerged, but not out
always a balance
as on the edge of a knife
always the balances
the trade-offs, the evenness
always it is there, all
of it everywhere
the hot to the cold
and the positive to the negative
and the man to the women
the misery to the bliss...
and I sit on the edge
on this fence of it all
floating half submerged, half out
and I see in the sea
all of the other people, floating around me
bobbing up and down
but never all the way out
never all the way in
except for a few
a very rare few...
who stand out and shine
or hide and grow dark
and these, these everyone wants to be
those extremes...
