Birthday MOD for Nuke-Evolution

Postby Slyfox1 » Fri Jan 27, 2006 1:35 pm

Hope this is the right place to post.

I am running Nuke-Evolution. I've downloaded and install this mod, which for the better part works...kinda :)

Are you interested in working to perhaps make this MOD work?

If not I understand...

I'll wait your reply.

Thanks

I don't know anything about Nuke-Evolution. If you were to provide me (via PM or email) with a temp. FTP account, I could see what I can do (which might, incidently, be anything, but atleast I can look), though.

Just a little more info.

The theme index_body, viewprofile, edit_profile work fine. As in the information at the bottom of the index are there.

It also displays the correct info if there is or isn't a birthday for that day.

The problem as I see it is with the "Upcoming" info.

Looking at your site there's the..

No users with Birthdays today
User with birthdays in the next x days.

This info is missing.

Hope this helps with your digging.

The problem is that the MOD wasn't installed correctly. From the modifications made to the varrious index_body.tpl's:

Code: Select all
<!-- Start add - Birthday MOD -->
  <tr>
   <td class="catHead" colspan="2" height="28"><span class="cattitle">{L_TODAYS_BIRTHDAYS}</span></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
   <td class="row1" align="center" valign="middle"><img src="themes/chromo/forums/images/icon_birthday.gif" alt="{L_VIEW_BIRTHDAYS}" /></td>
   <td class="row1" align="left" width="100%"><span class="gensmall">{BIRTHDAYS}
     <!-- BEGIN upcoming -->
     <br />{UPCOMING}
     <!-- END upcoming -->
     </span>
   </td>
  </tr>
<!-- End add - Birthday MOD -->

The one in the MOD reads more like this:

Code: Select all
  <!-- BEGIN birthdays -->
  <tr>
   <td class="catHead" colspan="2" height="28"><span class="cattitle">{L_TODAYS_BIRTHDAYS}</span></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
   <td class="row1" align="center" valign="middle"><img src="templates/subSilver/images/icon_birthday.gif" alt="{L_VIEW_BIRTHDAYS}" /></td>
   <td class="row1" align="left" width="100%">
     <span class="gensmall">{BIRTHDAYS}
     <!-- BEGIN upcoming -->
     <br />{UPCOMING}
     <!-- END upcoming -->
     </span>
   </td>
  </tr>
  <!-- END birthdays -->

Note how the comments before and after, in the orig. - ie. <!-- BEGIN birthdays --> - have been replaced with <!-- Start add - Birthday MOD --> in yours. This is the problem. phpBB's template parser actually uses some comments to conditionally display stuff. By changing them, you changed how phpBB parses index_body.tpl.

Cheers mate.

I was under the impression that comments were just that, comemnts.

I had a few problems getting the header to display, hence the changes.

All changed and working! Cheers
