Hugo Winners Named

The Hugo Awards for best science fiction works in 2002 were presented Aug. 30 at the 61st World Science Fiction Convention, Torcon 3, in Toronto. Named in honor of editor Hugo Gernsback, often called the father of magazine science fiction, the Hugo Award (also known as the Science Fiction Achievement Award) is given annually by the World Science Fiction Society and determined by nominations from and a popular vote of the membership. Hugo Awards honor works that appeared in the previous calendar year. A full list of winners follows.
