Family Emergency

Postby Dracofrost » Sat Jun 23, 2007 11:51 pm

Paleofrost, my father, is in the hospital. He was vomiting profusely and in a lot of pain. We're not sure what's wrong with him. He and his fiance just went to the hospital, and I'm here waiting at the house.

Will keep y'all posted when I get more info.

I spread the word to some of the family members here.

Hopefully, whatever is happening isn't life-threatening and that he'll be able to get better soon. Let us hope for the best.

Doctors think he might have a kidney stone. So he's getting CAT scanned right now for that. They gave him something for the pain though, and that was the worst of it. So he's not too bad off right now.

Will post again when we get the results.

He's home now. Docs still aren't sure what it was, but think kidney stone. He has some pain pills and seems alright.

Goodnight, fellow Frosts.

According to wikipedia.org's entry on kidney stones,

...many stones are formed and passed without causing symptoms. If stones grow to sufficient size before passage -- on the order of at least 2-3 millimeters -- they can cause obstruction of the ureter. The resulting distention with urine can cause severe episodic pain, most commonly felt in the flank (often said to be the closest to giving birth a man will ever feel)

Doesn't sound like much fun.

Glad the worst is behind him :)

well, glad tht episode turned out alright. Could've been any numbers of things, but a kidney stone, although it is painful... thankfully minor. Hope he manages alright!
