How frosty we are...

Well, apparently so. Through my own browsings, I have recently discovered, that I, Paleofrost, Javafrost, Gigafrost, Megafrost, and Chronofrost are all descendants of Frost. What does that mean? I will explain.

Some time ago I came to learn that I (and consequently, those others that I mentioned) were descended from William the Conqueror. Many millions of people today probably are, but apparently the geneological charts in my family, at least along some lines, go back very far. Now, of course, many medieval rulers thought that geneology was very important, and so would keep extensive charts of their own. However, I only recently, through random browsing of wikipedia, discovered William's heritage, going all the way back to the ancient giant Fornjot of Norse Mythology. (Yes, my 45 or so times great grandfather was a Jotun).

Anyways, here's the list down to William, as found here:
1. Fornjot (ruler of Finland and Kvenland). Born ca. 550 AD.
2. Third son of Fornjot was Kari, whose son was:
3. Frost, who was the father of
4. Snow the Old, whose son was:
5. Thorri, King of Finland
6. Thorri’s two sons were Norr and Gorr
7. Gorr’s sons were Heiti and Beiti
8. Heiti was father of Sveidi the Sea-King, whose son was
9. Halfdan the Old, whose son was
10. Ivar the Uplanders’ Earl, whose son was
11. Eystein the Noisy, whose son was
12. Rognvald, Earl of More, Mighty and Wise in Council. (Ninth Century A.D.)
13. Rognvald’s son was Hrolf (Rollo), King of Normandy (died ca. 933 AD).
14. Rollo’s son was William Longsword (murdered 942) - mother was Poppa; from her, four generations back to Guillaume of Gellone.
15. His son was Duke Richard I (died 996)
16. His son was Duke Richard II (died 1026); married Judith of Brittany
17. Their son was Robert, Count of Heimois and Duke of Normandy
18. His son was William, Conqueror of England in Battle of Hastings, 1066 AD.

Also of note are Norr and Gorr; Norr gave his name to the lands he conquered and became king of: Norway. Gorr, however, conquered the islands and surrounding seas; yes, I am part Viking. So... yo ho ho and a bottle of mead?

Also of note is the fact that Kari is a personification of the wind, and his brother's include Aegir and Logi, rulers of the Sea and of Fire respectively. Anyways though...

We have a true basis for our Frost Clan... hehehe...

And so on down the line. So he's like, my 43rd times great grandfather, and the same for Giga, Mega, Chrono, and J0E64.

Well, I'm pretty much like your mom, though certain lines maintained geneological records much better than most do, so that's why I was able to piece this together. Heh. Still...

I AM A SON OF FROST! IN REALITY! And I just thought that was f***ing cool, and somewhat interesting that my cousins should have chosen that name for us, by happenstance.
