i think crickets are the least of my worries, pest-wise. In my old house, a scorpion crawled up through the drain of my bathroom sink one morning. And roaches are always a bother, but I usually find dead ones due to the heat or the cats, or whatever.
I also remember reading an article by Dave Barry telling of how he was at his computer and he looked down and saw a snake right next to his keyboard. Weird how these critters seem to wander straight into our homes. :eep

It's a good thing we've got Drazo to comment in this thread every other year when it comes back to life. :)

Killed six crickets, last night.

The first cricket was flying around (didn't even know they could do that) and hit something. I then pursued that cricket, making it fly around even more, until I finally got it.

The next cricket was at the foot of my bed. The third was in the shower with me. The fourth was in the kitchen, the fifth hopped on me while I was in bed (I moved my bed just to get it; a chirp-like sound really motivated me), and the sixth was in the kitchen (again).

One of the people on my hall keeps crickets. He has several reptiles in different terrariums, so he also has a setup with a terrarium full of live crickets to scoop out and feed them. There's always escapees wandering around... >.>

interesting.... your dorms let you keep pets. Mine would hit the roof if I brought anything aside from a very small goldfish.

Well, mine don't let us keep anything with fur. Something to do with liability about allergies? That doesn't stop people from trying, though. I knew one guy who kept a freaking dog in his dorm room. That didn't last too long though.

This doesn't really have anything to do with crickets, but...

Yeah. I've been catching scorpions for money. It's fun. That has nothing to do with crickets, I realise, but whatever.
