well, whatever it is, they must like it...

i killed three more in the half hour or so that i was up!!!

based on this, i'm expecting more cricket attacks in the comming days, and may have to put in another request for treatements... it seemed to help the first time 'round....

How are you going to see that it is resolved? Are you going to ask for treatments?

well.. another cricket decided to take a dive in the kitchen, again, this time landing *very* close to the food i was cooking. thankfully, it didn't actually land in the frying pan, but... it was so close, i was afraid i might have a fried cricket on my hands... and i'm not even sure crickets fry... i have a feeling they might burn... and i don't really want a fire in my appartment...

Like I've said, crickets do cook, and will dry out and be rather similar to popcorn, in terms of flavor and crunchiness...

I was sparred a cricket invasion last year, but this year, they're back in full force!

I think I've killed four today and maybe four yesterday. Not quite as bad, thus far, as the worst time I had it, but still much worse than usual.

I've also, incidently, experienced more flying crickets (crickets comming from the air ducts).

EDIT: I just had a most disturbing experience. A cricket landed on my shirt!

Anyway, it's odd - I wasn't always repulsed by crickets. I, in fact, used to catch them, grasshopers, and cicada's, and throw them in spider webs. I guess some of that may have to do with the fact that when you're hunting them you're in control, but when they're inside your place of residence, you're kinda not.

Wow what a thread revival. It's so old and decayed it's full of worms, maggots and crickets....

I used to like catching crickets and grasshoppers....

meh never really had crickets before....and I don't think I would have a problem with them if they were here.... but maybe after awhile they might get annoying....

Apparently New Zealand has a really nasty cricket - a Weta. They're up to 8 inches long, are "one of the largest insects in the world and [are] heavier than a sparrow"

wikipedia.org provides pictures and more info:

The place where I work is under siege. Crickets launched a surprise attack at dawn and have been using chemical weapons. Apparently all the cricket corpses have not deterred them:

They're not swarming in our building, but I was playing with a live one that somehow got here onto the 6th floor. Coworkers have seen them on the 12th, and the security guard says they're even on the roof.

They're everywhere...
