Well, it would change our culture's view of women in that women could be viewed either as more powerful than men or women as more physically agressive than men.

If it did that only the people who watch it would think that. Then the message that you might get about women being more powerful would be balanced out by things like Trigun and DBZ.

Yeah, then the message would be that all humans are weak, and the only real power is in the hands of aliens and robots(Plants would count as aliens, no?).

not if you became president, a powerful lobyiest, or whatever, and forced your view on the world.

further, from what i've seen of anime, there is a lot of science fiction like elements to it. half the anime i've seen has nanobots, and big giant robots... so anyways, i think anime could inspire inventions just as science fiction can...
