it's a security thing, every since 911 at certain key points through the subway military and cops stand side by side ....

it doesn't matter anyhow... there is no way they can police that rule in every part of the subway.
if there were trying to stop people from bombing it, they would also have to rip off the shelves all the books that detail the subway history, any photgraphy books that treated the subway as art....
i'm just suprised that this didn't pop up sooner.
