i'm sure ya'll have heard about it. as the baby boom generation matures (and as they live that much longer than they would have otherwise lived), there isn't gonna be enough money to pay for things like social security, medicare, medicaid, etc.

An array of government and private analysts put the actual U.S. "fiscal gap," which means all future receipts minus all future obligations, at $40 trillion (Government Accountability Office) to $72 trillion (Social Security Board of Trustees).

yeah, as i thought, that is a LONG article. hehe :) . it would have been nice if the bush admin had started working on the prob. but, since he and his peeps won't really have anything to do with it in their future, i guess it doesn't matter to him. and he only makes things better with his unprecedented budget deficits, u know the ones that are bigger than most countries have for gnp.
