apparently a community college is offering classes on the language...

slashdot.org (where i first read about this) suggests that klingon to elvish translation books might not be so far off, hehe :)

I have seen many places in the web where they advertise on-line or presential lessons, but i have always wondered how really developed is the languge. The article says Tolkien only wrote 350 words in Sindarin! I think he probably wrote more in Quenya, but still is difficult to make up a whole language starting from that!

Pardon language, but i think all that is bullshi8t, all of his language that he intended for us to read is there, he wrote more to his language, but didnt want us to know. Read his biography and you will figure this out

Tolkien told what he wanted us to know, why didnt he make a fourht age, cuz he wants us to imagine it, not read it. How come never talked about the far east, where it is said the other two wizards went? Why? Becuz he wanted us to wonder about it. There were reasons he didnt tell us. He made a language and gave us what he wanted us to know. These made up languages are bullshit. Tolkien would be disappointed with his "fans" for this stupidity.

Well. but in one way, following your logic... the people who is developing the languages further is just wondering, imagining what is what Tolkien left unsaid because he wanted us to wonder about it.
He had a clear intention of creating a British mythology that had not been created naturally/historically. I guess he will be ok, even pleased that now some people tried to create the language he left untold... I guess that it will never been real elvish, but it's kind of elvish. Maybe the same that the dociuments of the church are written in lathin, but of course they need words and expression that did not exist in the Empire, so they have to conceptuate new words or ways of saying things. And that's the closest yuo can get to lathin!

Probably... I know enough to be able to correct people who do it wrong, but I'm not fluent... :)
Look! A distraction!
