a disappointing year for oscar's

as this bbc article suggests, this year is gonna be kinda disappointing for the oscar's. the combined earnings of the movies that have been nominated for best picture is the lower than they've been for the past twenty years. i can personally attest to the fact that this year - unlike many prior years - i haven't seen a single one of 'em and i suspect the same is true for many people here.

the highest grossing movie is the aviator, whose title, alone, conjours up images of the english patient (which is another movie i haven't seen; i've only heard about it, and what i've heard sounds similar to what the aviator looks like)...

I dont think I've seen any of them either, except Shrek 2, which kicked ass, the Incredibles did too
