it's an anime. The real-life world rt is amazingly detailed, but the story is about a guy getting stuck in a game, as a virtual character RPG, like evercrack, but more addicting, more real, and it uses a cyber connector thing instead of mouse and keyboard.

good anime, i hear. I saw the second anime installment. Half of the story is in games, too.

I saw that. Too bad there isn't a REAL version of the series.

I watched like 5 episodes. Then I realized I watched it just for the music and neat animation, because the story, or what little they told you about it, sucked.

The games themselves are a separate buy, but I believe each of the 4 games comes with an episode of .hack//luminality, with the 4th game also coming with .hack//gift. I think that's what the case is anyways...

I know you can get all 4 games for the PS2, but I'm not sure if they're available for any other system.

I haven't ever seen them available for other systems. I'm pretty sure they're PS2 only.

from what i have played of the game..it doesn't live up to it's hype. It says it's supposed to make evercrack feel like eversugar... or something... making this game out to be more addicting to play... it says it's supposed to emulate the online experience... but it doesn't.

as a game it's alright. ... i don't i haven't gotten anywhere really..since i don't have much focus into playing to beat the game. It has become mostly a game to pass the time... when i haven't much else to do.

I guess since I read Tad William's series on people stuck on a game thingy and it having affects offline, my opinion of this game and it's anime series may have been jaded.

i don't think the .hack games even can emulate the real online experience...

but then again, i'm not 100% sure the story of the .hack games really could be developed in a truely online game, anyway. i mean, what - is everyone supposed to be the saviors of "the world"?

It's known as both. I imagine that the "Bracelet" part was taken off to make the name simpler (for over here)...at least, that seems plenty plausible.

For our DVD region, it's obvious that the DVD doesn't have bracelet:

http://www.animeondvd.com/reviews2/disc ... s/2949.php

However, the three anime databases I use either have the "bracelet" added or acknowledge that it can be called that.

http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,1141 ... end_o.html

Of particular interest is the first link which lists alternative names that it's know as.
