Zamorak armor

Postby Megafrost » Sun Sep 19, 2004 12:57 am

Sometime after treasure trails were introduced(or maybe at the same time), god armors got introduced into the game. These armors aren't any better than rune armor. However, they look a bit different.

There are currently god armors for only the 3 major gods: Saradomin, Guthix, and Zamorak. The armors are all the same color as rune, except for a little outline color. The outline will be a color depending on which god the armor is for: White for Saradomin, green for Guthix, and red for Zamorak.

Since these armors can only be gotten from member treasure trails, they are rare at the moment. And because they are rare right now, they are very expensive when purchased from other players. Indeed, I payed around 3.85 million for my set. I didn't pay the best price, but I don't really care right now. Only members can do the treasure trails, but non-members can wear the armor.

I've taken some pictures of myself in the armor. I have attached a file of myself from 4 different angles, as well as what the armor looks like in my inventory. Do not ask if my armor is for sale, because it isn't.

It's just a plot to make people play more. It's advertising.

Duh. Of course they want you to play the game. I don't really see the point of your post.

No, what I mean is that they aren't increasing to the playability of Runescape, they're just trying to get more cash.

They should give non-members more privledges, even if it means giving more to members.

Personally, I don't like the idea of the armors. It's a game, not a dress-up. If they are as good as rune, why waste extra money, huge amounts, to look good?

It's not like these god armors are the only thing they've come out with in months. Polls indicated people wanted rare items, and that's exactly what they got with these armors.

Also, I disagree that non-members should have any more priviledges. They don't pay anything for the game. This game is huge. I'm surprised that you're not forced to pay to play like almost every other MMORPG.

I'd also like to point out, that you can do whatever you want in the game(as long as it doesn't violate the rules). People can dress up if they want to. There's also another aspect to this armor: If you wear it, people will think you're rich simply because of how expensive it is.

probably for the same reason some people pay to have brandname equipment, as opposed to generically branded equipment that has the same functionality?

I sold the armor. After the novelty of having really expensive armor and being rich wore off, it was quickly replaced with annoyance. No one seemed to know what the hell it was, and kept asking me what it was. Not to mention people kept offering money for it even when I said "not for sale".

All that attention got so annoying after awhile, that I just couldn't take it anymore. If for some reason Jagex offers me the position of being a player moderator, remind me to reject it. I hear that being a player moderator grabs a lot more attention than just being rich.

if you were a player mod, would you be able to do the stuff that only paying players can do? if so, although it might have its downsides, its upsides might be enough to warrant doing it, anyway.. maybe, heh.

Player moderators get three things(besides all the attention.)

First, any abuse reports by a player moderator have more priority than an abuse report by a normal player.

Second, if someone is breaking the rules and won't stop, a player moderator can temporarily mute them for 24 hours.

Third, they get a silver crown next to their name. This is supposed to tell other players that the player moderator is...a player moderator. Unfortunately, no one reads the FAQs on the website, so people will ask "What's that silver crown?" and "How did you get that silver crown?"

EDIT: I've remembered something else. Player moderators go through chat blocks. So even if public chat is set so that you don't see what anyone says, you'll still see a player moderator's chat.

And:
(silver crown here) (username here): Means you are a player moderator
(gold crown here) (username here): Means you are a Jagex staff member
^^--I saw those once and i was ready to yell "WTF??!"
